I can honestly say I hate wedding shoes. Obviously I am talking about your bog standard plain wedding shoe that for some reason costs an arm and a leg. I reckon most of you out there are planning to go for a high street option for your big day so here's an idea. Make them a bit more special and your own by adding my handmade shoe clips. I use vintage pieces of jewellery in the process so they will make your shoes totally unique.
All will be available at the The Vintage Wedding Fair this coming weekend!
Silver Sixpence In Her Shoe was started by me, Nicola, when I couldn't find any accessories I wanted for my own wedding day. I live and work in Manchester but have sent orders as farflung as Sydney Australia.
I have a degree in fashion and textiles plus 10 years of buying experience behind me. Now I am lucky to be tying that up with a love of all things haberdashery and vintage in my own business. Tradition states that the bride should place a lucky silver sixpence in her left shoe to bring her a wealth of happiness throughout married life- I have my lovely friend Flo to thank for the name of the business, taken from the rhyme something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe.
